Child Therapy

Childhood can be full of big emotions, challenges, and transitions. Sometimes children struggle with anxiety, emotional outbursts, behavior concerns, self-esteem, friendships, school stress, ADHD, or changes within the family. When children don't yet have the words to express what they're feeling, those struggles often show up through behavior.

I provide a warm, supportive space where children can explore their emotions, build coping skills, and develop confidence. Through play-based interventions, sand tray therapy, creative activities, and age-appropriate counseling techniques, children can express themselves in ways that feel natural and safe.

Common Reasons Parents Seek Therapy for Their Child

  • Anxiety, worries, and fears

  • ADHD, attention, and executive functioning challenges

  • Emotional regulation difficulties, big feelings, and meltdowns

  • Behavioral concerns at home or school

  • Low self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth struggles

  • Social skills, friendships, and peer relationship difficulties

  • Family changes, separation, divorce, or other major transitions

  • Grief, trauma, stressful life experiences, or school-related challenges

My Approach

Every child is unique. Therapy is tailored to your child's developmental level, personality, strengths, and specific needs. I use a combination of play therapy, sand tray therapy, attachment-based approaches, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and trauma-informed care to help children develop healthy ways to understand and manage their emotions.

Parents play an important role in the therapeutic process. While children need a safe space of their own, I also work collaboratively with parents to provide support, education, and practical strategies that can be used at home.

What to Expect

The first few sessions focus on getting to know your child, understanding your concerns, and building trust. As therapy progresses, children often develop stronger emotional awareness, improved coping skills, greater confidence, and healthier ways of communicating their needs.
